Dubai October- 4,2009:‘Kemmannu Flowers-U A E’ a fast growing group of Kemmanites, celebrated a full day programme ‘Kemmannu Fest -2009’ with full swing, on the occasion of their fourth anniversary, at Karama Hotel, Dubai, U.A.E. On October 2, 2009, the Patron Day of St. Theresa Church, Kemmannu.













The programme began at around 12.30 p.m. with a Prayer song by members, Rony D’Souza, Melwyn Fernandes, Ida Fernandes and Clarice D’souza followed by St.Theresa’s Patron’s Hymn of Kemmannu Parish. Annual Report (Vardi) was read by Ida Fernandes The President, Arvin Quadros welcomed the audience with his meaningful words.

Main Sponsor Mr. Frank Fernandes, Managing Director of Mosaco Shipping & Forwarding and Mr. Walter Nandalike, CEO of Daijiworld Media Pvt Ltd and Editor-in-chief of, and Mr. Dian D’Souza were the chief guests on the occasion, were honoured by the president with bouquet of flowers.

Mr. Walter Nandalike, Mr. Frank Fernandes, Mr. Dian D’Souza and Mr. Arvin Quadros lit the lamp and inaugurated the event in commemoration of fourth anniversary of Kemmannu Flowers.

The Konkani album of the movie ‘KAZAR’, produced by Mr. Frank Fernandes and cast by his son Mr. Larry Fernandes, was released during the event.

A brief felicitation was also held by the organizers on the occasion. Mr. Manohar Thonse of Kemmannu, a journalist who contributed his several articles in news paper and maganzines like ‘Patrapushpa’, ‘Mogaveera’ also won several awards like , Suvarna Kannadiga 2006 award, Suvarna Ratna 2007 award,Vishwamanya Kannadiga Award 2008 was felicitated.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Walter Nandalike and Mr. Dian D’Souza admired the Kemmannu flowers for their thoughtfulness for honouring Mr. Manohar Thonse and they wished them bright future and success in their goal.

The Organizers honoured and thanked the Main Sponsor M/s Mosaco shipping and Forwarding LLC, and all sponsors and well wishers by the bouquets.

Well known Band ‘Sweet melodies’ thrilled the crowd with their melodious numbers to the programme and Mr. Roshan D’Silva of Vamanjoor compared the event admirably.

Budding kids Master Maclean and baby Rhea danced their way for the first time for Kemmannu crowd with their Hindi dance numbers ‘Disco Dancer/Jootha hai Japani’ and ‘mayya mayya’ songs respectively. Master Sam D’Souza, as usual, thrilled the audience with his exciting dance mix ‘Merjani Merjani and Aloo Chat’. Dance by Ida and Party ‘Goa baila’ also excited the audience. A romantic Kannada dance number ‘Anusitide yako yendu’ from a super hit Kannada film ‘Mungaru Male’ was presented by Ronald D’Souza and Clarice D’Souza, captivated the crowd. Another Hindi Hit dance number ‘Desi Girl’ by Nancy and Party also enthralled the crowd.

The Hilarious comedy skits by Mr. Stany Dcunha and Party, Melwyn and party, Sheldon and Hazel left the crowd in splits with their comedies.

The day continued with some memorable Mangalorean and Hindi numbers which were thoroughly enjoyed by the crowd. Grand finale came in the form of a Novelty dance and live Mangalorean Baila dance which was a thriller to witness, an expression of ecstasy and true joy at a celebration so wonderful and enthralling. Spot Prizes, games for kids and adults, Novelty Dances, entry ticket draw with fabulous prizes and a sumptuous buffet lunch were other highlights of the event. Mr. Melwyn Fernandes on behalf of Kemmannu Flowers in his address thanked the main sponsor, sponsors, well wishers and each and every person who rendered a helping hand directly or indirectly in making the event a memorable one.

More than 130 people participated and enjoyed the show which was a grand success and memorable one. With a heartfelt vote of thanks, the fun filled and much awaited event ‘Kemmannu Fest 2009’ came to an end at 5.30 p.m. While going out of the function all the people were given take away gift bags like Dates, Pickles, Tomato paste, Tomato ketch up from Chilly Willy and products from Nivea.
