Karunalaya Bethany Social Centre of Attavar, Mangalore had organized Kalothsava, a festival of fine arts by the members of self-help groups at Karunalaya Hall on December 23, 2007.

The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the Vice president of Women and Child Welfare Govt. department Mrs Gertrude Veigas.  She said, “while fighting for a just society free from women and child discrimination, due attention should be given to environment and its protection”.  Chief guests of the function, director of Bethany Social Centre Sr Wilberta and central delegation superior Sr Lillis wished well to the function.  L.I.C. officer Mr K.N. Sashidhar shared information on Janashree Group Insurance.  Attavar Corporator  Mrs K. B. Vijayalaxmi, Superior of Bethany Convent Bendore  Sr Juliana, Convenor of Sahodaya Sr  Prema, Convenor of Karunalaya Sr Dulcis  and Babugudde region president Mrs Radhda were on dais. 

The members of Self Help groups exhibited their talents through singing, dance, skits etc.  Christmas and New Year messages were given.  The winners of the competitions held prior to this event were given prizes.  Nearly 200 people participated.
