Mumbai: A Konkani drama "Fulak Sairik Zalya" written and directed by Joker Cassia was staged at the St.Josephs Church ground in Mira Road on the 10th of April 2010. The Drama was produced by Henry D'Paula with his "Kutam" group and was presented by the St.Josephs Konkani Welfare Association Mira Road.
"This drama takes a great step in developing our language and our culture and deepening our heart and our mind. When a child is born it drinks the milk of the mother. From the mothers milk the child gets its mother tongue. Apparently, it is the first word which we speak after our birth and also when we are in great trouble we also express our feelings in our language itself. Even when we are at the death bed our expressions come out in our mother tongue. Thus we should never forget to speak in our language. Along with the language we inherit our culture, our identity. Thus we need to develop our language. We need to teach it to our children. We need to speak our language at home. We need to use our culture and our language during our programmes." said Fr. Dominc Vas, the Parish Priest of the Mira Road Church at this occasion. He presided over the stage function.
