Mangalore: Nisarga Play School at Kadri hills, Mangalore celebrated Children’s Day along with Id, Dasara and Diwali on November 14, 2009 at its premises.


Rev. Dr. Ronald Cutinha, director of Samanvaya inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. In his inaugural address he gave the message on the significance of festivals for inter-religious harmony. He also said “without knowledge and education children can lead good and peaceful life but without values they land in troubles”. The chief guest Sri Sanjeeva Shetty, former chairman of Amblamogaru Panchayat distributed prizes and appealed the students to build a value based career. The president of the function Sri Ganesh S. Rao, chairman of Karavali Group of Colleges spoke on the significance of children’s day and distributed the prizes to parents of children for their significance contribution to the institution.

Variety cultural events by the children and parents depicted children’s day message. The correspondent of the school Mr Victor D’Souza was present on the dais. Student Sanjana Sanil and Mrs Patsy D’souza welcomed, Vidya Shenoy proposed vote of thanks and Sylvia Fernandes compeered. Display of fireworks was the culminating point of the event. The director Mrs Patsy D’souza headed responsibility of organizing the event.
