Mangalore 16th October 2009: “Global Warming is the future manmade hazard. Due to the constant attacks of humans on the environment of planet earth, environment is loosing its balance. A comprehensive plan and serious action to fight against Global Warming alone can save this planet. If we protect environment, environment will protect us; if we destroy environment the environment will show its anger through earthquakes, volcanoes, cyclones, global warming etc” said Mr.Ganesh Kudva, assistant general manager of Canara Bank, Balmatta branch after inaugurating the seminar on Protection of Natural Resources by lighting the lamp. This seminar was jointly organized by Samanvaya Mangalore and Xavier Industrial Training Centre for the benefit of the students of ITC at its hall on October 15, 2009.
 

The resource person Rev. Dr.Ronald Cutinha, director of Samanvaya highlighted the need of protecting environment, avoiding the excessive use of plastic, pollution free environment, water pollution, air pollution, acid rain, global warming, broken ozone layer etc. through LCD PowerPoint presentation and tele film on solid waste management. The slogans on Environment protection, explaining student’s role in protecting environment and question-answer session made the seminar lively.
Advocate Mr.J.J.V. Fernandes, the Chairman of Xavier ITC welcomed and introduced the dignitaries. Secretary Mr.F. M. Lobo proposed vote of thanks and Mr Shivanand compeered. The principal Mr.Sudheer Kotian took keen interest in arranging this programme. 210 participants along with their lecturers actively involved themselves in the seminar.
