August 21^st 2009: Konkani Recognition day celebrated in Milagres College on 19^th August 2009 by Konkani Sangatan Udupi district in association with AICUF and NSS Milagres College.

Prof Hilda Rodrigues the principal in charge presided over the function. Prof Vincent Alva was the guest of honour. He advised the youngsters to preserve our language by speaking in Konkani.

The function was followed by various singing competitions in Konkani and prizes were won for solo and group singing. The winners were

For Solo:

First: Nisha Crasta           

Second:  Freeda      

Third:  Priyanka Furtado

For Group:

First: Sr.Philomena and group

Second: Sean and Group

Third: Reshma Lewis and group
