Udupi: Catholic Women Association Founded at Katpadi Parish

Udupi 21st October 2008: A new branch of Mangalore Diocesan Catholic Council of Women was founded at Katpadi parish on October 19, 2008.  After the brief introduction and welcome by the parish priest of Katpadi parish, Rev. Fr. Ronald Fernandes. The induction training was conducted by the director of Samanvaya Rev. Dr.Ronald Cutinha on the need and importance of Women Association, the personal and communitarian benefits and the growth of talents and leadership qualities in women.  Mrs.Leena Roche Brahmavar, the women president of DCCW Mangalore explained the constitution, rules and regulations of the Women Association.



In the elections that were held, Mrs.Blanch Corneleo was elected as president, Mrs.Juliana Pereira vice president, Mrs.Rita Fernandes secretary, Mrs.Latha Periera treasurer, Mrs.Gracy Monteiro Varado representative and Mrs.Gladys Pinto news bulletin ‘Jagran’ representative.


Udupi Varado representative Mrs.Irene Pereira Udyavara and Kallianpur Varado representative Mrs.Cynthia Dias Barkur were present on the occasion.  42 women participated in this training.
