Mangalore 21st July:One day training on "the Role of Parish Associations in planning Parish activities and the Co-ordination between Associations" was organized by Mangalore South Deanery under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Andrew D' Souza, Vicar Forane and Parish Priest of Mudipu Parish on 20-07-2008 at St. Sebastian School Hall, Permannur.
The main topics dealt were the role and responsibilities of the association office bearers, need to co-ordinate between the associations and the ways to do it. The skills on planning, implementation and evaluation of a programme were imparted. The participants drafted an action plan for the activities to be done in their parishes. A case study worked out by the participants made the session lively. This was followed by group discussion and summing up.
After the noon meals there was interaction between priests and the participants. 7 Priests of the deanery were available for the interaction. This interaction has built a new spirit, and given a boost to the associations. The participants insisted to have similar training programme in all their parishes for the members of different associations.
The Director of Samanvaya, Rev. Dr Ronald Cutinha was the resource person for the programme. There were 88 participants from 10 parishes of Mangalore South Deanery. Arrangements for breakfast and sumptuous meal were done.
