Mangalore June 23rd:Urwa Parish youth and YCS unit along with Samanvaya Mangalore had organized a day’s workshop on Building Effective Youth Association at Urwa church hall for its parish youth on Sunday, June 22, 2008.  The workshop was inaugurated by the parish priest Rev. Fr Andrew Lewis by lighting the lamp.  In his inaugural address he said, “If the unguided youth are properly guided, youth energy is properly chanalised and their human resources are fully developed, then our nation will, undoubtedly be one of the richest nations of the world”.

The workshop was conducted by the director of Samanvaya and HRD expert Rev. Dr Ronald Cutinha by using electrical gazettes and through group interactions, discussions, sharing of experiences action songs etc. The topics dealt were creative leadership, personality development and strategies in building effective youth groups.

Ms Caroline Pinto welcomed Sangeetha D’Souza proposed vote of thanks and Laurine Castelino compered. Youth president Mr Kiran and YCS secretary Ms Neeta were on the dais.  There were 54 youth participants.  Rev. Fr Vijay Machado, the assistant parish priest of Urwa parish had taken keen interest in organizing this event.
