Mangalore 1st Feb:Three persons including a woman died on the spot after a bus crammed with pilgrims rammed into a road-side tree near Naravi in the wee hours on Thursday.

The dead have been identified as driver Ambadas, Reshma Bai and her son Narayan from Maharastra. The accident also left over 45 passengers injured.

Venur police said the bus with devotees from Nasik and Aurangabad were on a 24-day pilgrimage.

After visiting Dharmasthala, the devotees were travelling to Gokarna, the last destination of the pilgrimage. Locals helped the police in rescuing and shifting passengers to safety.
